Summer Camp 2011 - Review & Presentation Night

Hi All

Please check out the video trailer for the Summer Camp Review & Presentation Night below (if the video doesn't appear then go straight to the YouTube version by clicking on the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Tg4XO708CE)

Once you've seen this video you'll realise what a great night it is going to be. So make sure that all Scouts can come along on that night - even if you didn't go on Summer Camp - and invite all your family too!

We will present a summary of the best photos that were taken by the leaders and adult helpers - there are literally hundreds to choose from! - plus some highlights from the hours of video that was filmed. Presentations will be made for the Camp Cooking Competition, Best Patrol on Camp and Best Scout on Camp, to name but a few. There will also be refreshments available.

When is it? - Friday 30th September - 7:30pm start as normal.

Make sure you don't miss it!

Rounders on the beach

Whistling Sands Beach

The Scouts have completed a treasure hunt today to get to the beach. They needed to solve clues to find out where to go next, put up a tent, build a fire and make a cup of tea, cross a minefield, solve a logistical puzzle involving canoes a dog a duck and some corn, complete a suduko puzzle and then locate some buried treasure on the beach using GPS and spades.

After that, the Patrols competed in Beach Olympics before settling down to a fish and chip supper. :-)

Back to the campsite in a bit for a final camp fire and then pack up tomorrow to come back home. :-(

High Ropes course

Everyone has had a great time at the High Ropes course today. They went on the zip wire, climbing wall, vertical swing and leap of faith!

Whilst we were there, the Scouts were able to take a look at the Blog on an internet PC that was free to use - and they were very impressed with all of the comments. They've even added a couple themselves.

Free time now in Porthmadog whilst the PL's do some shopping for the Patrol Cooking competition this evening.

The Camp Competition is very close at the moment with the four Patrols on 178, 180, 180 and 185. Opportunities to gain more points will be some games this evening, a Treasure Hunt to get to the beach tomorrow and then beach olympics - so still all to play for!
